Joshua Bain, Center for Energy Education, was the guest speaker at the Jan. 23 meeting. Mr. Bain spoke about the present energy needs of Indiana and the expected increased need in the future. He explained how electric energy is sent to our electric companies by a regional agency and how it is then passed on to our homes. Most of our electrical needs are being met by coal followed by natural gas, nuclear and the renewable sources of wind and solar. His presentation made us realize that energy production and usage is a complex problem without simple solutions.
