Dr. Dennis Zawadski was the guest speaker at the May 16th meeting. Dr. Zawadski, a retired pulmonologist, is President of the Delaware County Tuberculosis Association and spoke on the recent rise of tuberculosis in Delaware County and the United States. He explained that the increase in cases is due to the influx of unscreened immigrants. The implications of the increased cases and treatment were presented to the members present. It was an excellent presentation but with worrisome implications.
