Brian Wilson, director of the Delaware County Veterans’ Services Office, was a guest at the Exchange Club meeting on Dec.7. Mr. Wilson accepted a check from the Exchange Club for the local Stand Down program and explained how the donation will be used. The Stand Down event is coordinated by the Veterans’ Services Office and involves VA staff plus volunteers providing food, clothing and health screenings to homeless and at-risk Veterans. In addition, Veterans also receive referrals for health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment, mental health counseling and other essential services. The next Stand Down in Delaware County will be Sept. 17, 2024, in Heartland Hall at the Delaware County Fairgrounds.
